IoT devices such as Smart Lights, Door Locks, Thermostats and Temperature Sensors typically connect to the internet using WiFi, Bluetooth or Zigbee (IEEE 802.15.4). SPI NOR Flash has multiple uses in these applications from storing the firmware for the communications IC, data from sensors, configuration settings, security keys and even biometric data. The high endurance and retention of this type of non-volatile memory combined with small factor packaging, low power operation and ease of system integration provide substantial benefits compared to other memory solutions. Wearable products such as Smart Watches, Fitness Bands, Smart Goggles, TWS Earbuds, Hearing Aids and Health Monitors including glucose, blood pressure and medical alert devices all require non-volatile memory storage. Depending on the product, small to large densities are used and as wearables tend to be battery operated the lowest power consumption combined with advanced standby modes and deep power down support are critical to extending the useable life of the device.

Our BY25QAW/GW family supports a 1.65~3.6V wide-voltage range, 0.4uA deep power down mode and is available from 512Kb to 8Mb densities, while the BY25QEL series supports 1.8V low voltage, has a 5uA power down mode and 32Mb to 256Mb options.
